Egg-ceptional Success for Bumble Hole Foods!
Company achieves British Retail Consortium’s highest standard in food safety...
We are proud to announce that The British Retail Consortium has just awarded Bumble Hole Foods with their highest food safety award, a double A standard, in their Global Standard for Food Safety programme.
This top-grade award was issued in recognition of Bumble Hole Foods’ excellent standards in a number of areas including food safety, quality management, process control, staff training and product control.
Bumble Hole Foods, a UK based egg processing company can add this award to their growing list of accolades including organic approval by the Soil Association, A list approval by Marks and Spencer and approval to the British Egg Products Association Lion Egg Scheme.
This award comes at an egg-citing(!) time for Bumble Hole Foods who are revamping their marketing materials to help make sure that their customers know they mainly only use British eggs in their whole egg, whites and yolks, and blended egg products. This is especially important given the recent health scares with the insecticide Fipronil being used on overseas farms and contaminating eggs. Ian Jones, Chairman of Lion Egg Processors noted that there is a “gap in standards between the requirements British Lion egg producers follow, and those of egg processors outside of the UK.” He added that there is “research that shows consumers want British eggs to be used.”
We are immensely proud of achieving this award which is notoriously difficult to get.
Mark Smith, Technical Manager of Bumble Hole Foods, commented “We are immensely proud of achieving this award which is notoriously difficult to get. It’s testament to the dedication of our people and to our commitment to attaining the highest quality standards in egg processing.”
