Getting ready for Bumble Bimble charity run
Bromsgrove residents lace up for the inaugural Bumble Bimble charity run through "spectacular" countryside, in aid of Primrose Hospice
HUNDREDS of residents will take part in the inaugural Bumble Bimble charity run through Bromsgrove’s countryside on Sunday, June 11.
Residents raced to sign up for the five and 10-mile course through picturesque woodland, with places selling out within the first four days of going on sale.
The route takes runners through sites including Chaddesley Woods and Pepper Woods, and all entrants have made donations to raise funds for Primrose Hospice.
Event organiser Alex Dentith said: "We are surrounded by spectacular countryside in Bromsgrove and the Bumble Bimble lets runners really connect with nature and challenge themselves on difficult terrain."
The race begins at 10.30am from The Park Gate Inn on Kidderminster Road and at the end runners and their family can enjoy a family fun day event at the pub.
Refreshments will be available for supporters and the Salt and Pepper Pig company will be providing hot food for spectators of the race.
An inflatable bouncy slide, bouncy castle, games and face painting will also be available for children.
Hospice fundraising manager Emma Williams added: "We're all really looking forward to this event and have been overwhelmed by the support from the local community, Asda, Co-op, Aldi, Sainsbury’s and Morrisons who have made donations to support runners after their challenging run."
